Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you book or buy through one, we earn a commission. Using our link never costs you more, and sometimes a partner is running a discount or promo code on that channel. That is the whole arrangement - the rest of this page is detail.
Who we partner with
Our current and planned affiliate partners fall into five categories:
- Accommodation - Booking.com
- Tours and activities - GetYourGuide
- Car rental - Discover Cars
- Travel eSIMs - Airalo
- Travel insurance - selected providers
This list will change as the site grows. When it does, we update this page.
How it works
When you click an affiliate link, the partner’s site sets a cookie in your browser. If you complete a booking within their tracking window, the partner pays us a percentage. That money comes out of the partner’s marketing budget, not your pocket. The room never pay more for arriving through our link, and sometimes the partner is running a discount on that channel. We never see your payment details - the price is set by the partner, not by us.
What commissions don’t decide
What we recommend. If the best way from Milan to Varenna is a regional train, we tell you to take the train - even though that recommendation earns us exactly nothing. Plenty of our advice works that way: train timetables, parking strategy, which ferry dock to stand at. When we do link to a partner, it is because we would book that option ourselves, not because the commission is good. If something is overpriced or a waste of an afternoon, we either say so or leave it out.
Why we use affiliate links at all
Building these guides costs money: travel, ferry tickets, time spent checking that the bus actually stops where the timetable claims. Affiliate commissions cover that. The alternative is filling every page with display ads, which slow the site down and reward chasing clicks instead of accuracy. We would rather keep pages clean and earn only when a recommendation is useful enough that you act on it.
